L'Arc~en~Ciel are one of the most popular rock bands to emerge out of Japan. The charismatic rockers began as independent trendsetters in Japan and rose to multi-platinum status, selling over 34 million recordings over the past decade.

Building on their popularity as rock star, L'Arc~en~Ciel has provided several anime theme songs to some of the most popular anime programs. "READY STEADY GO", the theme song they provided to "FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST" debuted at #1 in Japan. In 2004, L'Arc~en~Ciel signed with California based Tofu Records, to bring them stateside and album "SMILE" featuring "READY STEADY GO" was released.

In July 2004, L’Arc~en~Ciel proved their popularity in the U.S. when they headlined at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD in conjunction with OTAKON, the largest Anime Convention on the east coast. L'Arc~en~Ciel drew a crowd of 12,000 US fans and became the first Japanese rock band to ever headline an arena show in the United States. Tofu Records releases "LIVE IN USA" DVD that captures the excitement and energy of this concert on May 31st. L'Arc-en-Ciel's much-anticipated new album "AWAKE" is also slated for release in the U.S. later this year.

L’Arc~en~Ciel has recently announced their first Asia tour which will take place in Korea, China and Japan in September. The concert in Japan at Tokyo Dome is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th and 25th.
